Last Monday we had a wonderful speech from Mr. Zhao. He is a great man, he good at garden build, he has a lot of knowledge about garden. He is a professor. He told us that the traditional building from China, the topic of speech is garden, we knew something about SuZhou garden, that is a great garden in SuZhou, there are a lot of beautiful buildings in it, the shapes are all so special, and the work add some Chinese culture into the building, every building has his own idea, the garden looks like a picture, buildings like people they want to tell something about their own story. We also knew some great garden like Imperial Palace and Summer Palace etc. He told us the ancient Chinese word “YUAN”, it is a special Chinese word it is pictographic characters of pictographs we can see the ancient Chinese word “YUAN” just like a picture about garden, also he told us the English word “GARDEN” is from “Gen” and “Eden”. These two words are from the Bible. “Gen” means the coming into being of something. The “Eden” means the garden that was the first home of Adam and Eve. This speech told us building garden is one of the most difficult and interesting things. We should know how hard the workers did, we should know how difficult designer designed. The most important thing is we should be proud of our Chinese garden culture, it is colorful and special.
I think this speech is educational, because according this speech we can get a lot of knowledge from garden. It is truth, but in the other hand some students who are not are interesting in garden felt a little bit sleepy. Because I think Mr. Zhao is not good at play with his listeners he should know a huge number of students never touch that kind of things before his speech. The speech should be more exciting and interesting. The information from me is joining a small game in the middle of speech. If he did that things his speech will be more popular and prefect.
